Even though a student's Pell Grant does not credit to the student account until the fourth week of school, a Pell eligible student can request a refund to purchase books and supplies up to 10 days prior to the start of school if the Pell Grant, combined with all the other aid the student is receiving, will create a credit balance on the student account. The student can request an advance of their credit balance from the Business Services Office.
 

As a Cal Grant B recipient, the California Student Aid Commission requests that 鶹ý University of California obtain written permission to credit Cal Grant B Access funds to the recipient's account. The recipient has the ability to rescind this authorization prior to the disbursement of funds and receive the Cal Grant B Access funds directly. As a result of a completed Authorization Form, Cal Grant B Access funds will be credited to the recipient's account or released directly to the recipient once the award has been confirmed. In meeting with the requirements of the State of California, 鶹ý University of California must make passage rates available for graduates of undergraduate programs leading to employment for which passage of a California licensing examination is required. Prior to enrolling in classes, students within the United States should confirm that their academic course or program has been authorized by their state for online delivery.

Maryland

The Maryland Higher Education Commission provides institutional approvals for online instruction. 鶹ý University of California is approved to offer online education in  the state of Maryland.

鶹ý will also continue to monitor developments in Maryland and any other state in which it enrolls students and, if additional approvals or authorization become necessary, will take any necessary steps to obtain such approvals.
